ButterflyDreaming is a social media platform built around anonymous dyadic conversations — encounters between two randomly paired users, mediated and gently modulated by AI. Participants explore a shared field of symbolic fragments drawn from poetry, myth, folktale, and philosophy. Together they may weave a new node — a short collaborative text — that joins the growing symbolic network and becomes a small gift to future participants.

The name operates on three resonant layers at once. From the Zhuangzi parable it takes the theme of identity transformation through encounter, and the permeability of the boundary between self and other. From chaos theory — specifically Edward Lorenz's butterfly effect — it draws the idea that tiny perturbations in complex systems produce unpredictable, disproportionate consequences. A chance meeting changes a life. And from contemporary biology, the platform reflects the concept of symbiogenesis: the incorporation of a formerly separate organism into a new composite entity, as happened when mitochondria became part of every eukaryotic cell.
